On the Content of Cadmium in the Branch Water of Han River

Abstract
A study was carried out to determine the concentration of Cadmium in the branch water of Han River from July through October, 1972. Cadmium was abstracted by Dithizone Method in the samples collected from 50 points of the branches, and analyzed with the Spectronic-20
The results are summarized as follows:
1. The mean concentration of Cadmium was 0.0054ppm in the branch waters of the Han River.
2. The highest concentration of Cadmium in Chungge stream was determined at Wonnam stream (0.0087ppm), while the lowest Yeonji stream (0.0027ppm).
3. The highest concentration of Cadmium in Ouk stream was determined at the branch of Seokaedong (0.0368ppm), while the lowest at Cheongpa 1ka (0.0031ppm). Ouk stream showed the highest pollution contained Cadmium.
4. The highest concentration of Cadmium among the inflow streams to Han River was determined in Anyang stream (0.0100ppm), while the lowest in Youngdeung-po sewer (0.0036ppm).
5. Samples exceeding W.H.O. Allowable Concentration of Cadmium (0.01ppm) for drinking water were 3 of the branches at Seokae-dong (0.0368ppm), Kalwol (0.0124ppm) and Anyang (0.01ppm).
